I've always been a creator. As a child I would draw and paint, but I also was always training to be a musician. But then as soon as I achieved my goal of being a successful professional musician, I wanted nothing more than to go back to my childhood and start again as an artist. So, at the ripe age of 40, I did just that! We only get one life, so why not live our best life?
I've worked in many mediums throughout the years, but have fallen in love with abstract acrylic fluid painting. It has so much that I love about art; an ability to prescribe what kind of effect and style you wish the piece to embody, but keeps one always learning that painting in this format must always allow for a degree of random variation and organic forms which naturally present themselves to you.
I'm inspired by nature, sacred geometry and the compositions it allows...and prevents. I'm constantly astounded by the random flaws that become my favorite parts to explore visually.
Most of all I am inspired by my students and the art that they are able to create even though they never knew they could. When I see THAT look of amazement on their faces, I am inspired to keep pushing myself and my art, exploring this wondrous art form in fluid art.
